TOYOTA LANKA CONTRIBUTES A “HYBRID LEARNING CENTER” FOR AETI
Colombo, Tuesday 17th October 2017: Toyota Lanka (Private) Limited, the National Dealer/ distributor for Toyota and Hino vehicles in Sri Lanka, has been a longstanding supporter of Automobile mastery in Sri Lanka, especially in the automobile engineering sector. Adding to their continued efforts the leading vehicle distributor recently sponsored a “Hybrid Technology Learning Room” for the Automobile Engineering Training Institute (AETI)
The hybrid learning center was inaugurated at the opening ceremony of AETI held under the patronage of His Excellency President Maithripala Sirisena, Japanese Ambassador for Sri Lanka Kenichi Suganuma, Minister of Skills Development and Vocational Training Chandima Weerakkody, Director/ Chief Operating Officer of Toyota Lanka Manohara Atukorala and Chairman of AETI Shehan Seneviratne along with other dignitaries.
Speaking on the CSR initiative Director/COO Manohara Atukorala noted, “Toyota has continuously strived to contribute to the needs of the nations and communities they operate in worldwide. Toyota aims to become a company that is admired and trusted by society. Being the sole authorized distributor for brand new vehicles, this initiative of Toyota Lanka together with AETI is only the first step in our continued efforts to uplift the quality of technical education and training for the automobile engineering sector in Sri Lanka. This project will ensure that students will have access to a state-of-the-art learning room to study the most advanced hybrid technology of Toyota, which is the way forward.”
The learning room comes fully-equipped with equipment such as hybrid powertrains, hybrid vehicle inverters, electric control brake system components, hybrid vehicle inverter water pumps, CVT gearboxes etc. The walls of the room have also been branded with posters and charts that display Toyota’s eco-friendly technology, Toyota Smart Mobility Society and Toyota Prius Generations. These hybrid system charts and diagrams will assist in learning while the equipment will allow students to gather practical knowledge.
AETI conducts full and part-time courses for automobile mechanics, electricians and other technicians who will all benefit for the Toyota Hybrid Technology Learning Room.

Toyota Lanka as a sponsor for Ranawiru Real Star
Toyota Lanka (Private) Limited, in its effort to recognize and support the “real heroes” of our nation, tied up with “Ranaviru Real Star” for the 5th consecutive time last year. Having been a key supporter of the event since its inception, Toyota Lanka gifts one of its latest motor vehicles to the first runner-up of the competition each year.
“Don’t learn safety by accident!”
Toyota Lanka Private Limited strongly believes that children of the present requires the need to be made aware of the importance and gravity of First aid and Road Safety and thus as part of a CSR project, collaborating with the Sri Lanka Red Cross Society- Gampaha Branch, Toyota Lanka conducted an event on Road Safety and First aid and also distribute Traffic Control and first aid equipment to students from 40 leading schools in the Western Province at Toyota Lanka Limited, Wattala premises.
Occurring on the 3rd of March, 2015 the event commenced at 9.30am graced by the honorable Minister of Education Mr. Akila Kariyawasam as the Chief Guest. Other special invitees included the Honorary President of the SLRCS Mr. Jagath Abeysinghe, the Chairman of the Gampaha branch Mr. Anton Victoria, the branch Executive Officer of the SLRCS Mr. Ruwan Abeywardana and special invitees from the Police among many others.
CSR from the Service Department
As a civic conscious team we have a concern towards our society. We launched many activities to distribute stationery items for students of under developed schools. Our Wattala Service Team was instrumental in organizing this project and it was warmly acknowledged by recipients.
KEY HANDING OVER TO RANAVIRU REAL STAR SEASON 3
Today our Managing Director Mr. Yoshiaki Kato has handed over the key to the runner up winner of the Ranaviru Real Star Season 3 – Reality TV show done by Mnistry of Defense and National Television. Mr. Lakshman Hulugalle (Director General of the Media Centre for National Security), Distingushed guests representing Sri Lankan defense forces have joined the presentation ceremony today along with Toyota Lanka’s COO Mr. Manohara Atukorala and General Manager Vehicle Sales – Mr. Eshan Coorey. We wish the winner, all the very best and a safe driving experience with the worlds most reliable car – Toyota.
