Toyota Lanka Donation to Combat Covid – 19

As a global citizen – a member of Toyota Group and as a true Sri Lanka multi-national; Toyota Lanka donated 20 million rupees valued two (2) luxury Toyota Coaster Buses to Government of Sri Lanka which was ceremoniously accepted by His Excellency President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, at the president’s office today (22 April). These buses are planned to serve the country in the ensuing days, as a national endeavor for the mobility and transportation purposes of medical necessities, medical offices and utilities for the health sector in savings lives from the pandemic. The buses were accepted by the Ministry of Health & Indigenous Medical Services, where one Toyota coaster bus was donated to Medical Research Institute (MRI) for the swift and safety mobility of test-research kits, officials and medical equipment for epidemic control unit. The 2nd unit was handover to Government Medical Officer’s Association (GMOA) for their special health promotion interventions for the fight against communicable and non-communicable diseases prevention projects throughout in Sri Lanka.
The donation of two units of Toyota Coaster buses took place at the Presidential Secretariat Office under the patronage of His Excellency the President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, Minister of Health Pavithra Wanniarachchi, Secretary to the President Dr. P.B Jayasundara, Principal Advisor to the President Lalith Weeratunga, Chairman of the State Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Corporation (SPMC) Dr. Uthpala Indrawansa, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Toyota Lanka Manohara Atukorala, General Manager-Sales Udaya Francis and Senior Head Service Operations, Nihal Palliyaguruge.”
